Dukno Yoon: Although the recent series, segmented wings have been focused on the formal challenge to engineer an intricate movement that simulates bird wings, these works are intended to be a series of poems in which I develop my own formal language, interpret the nature of wings, create various structural forms with movements, and share the metaphor, imagination, humor, with viewer/wearer.
Dukno Yoon: Intrigued by machines and their movements, mechanical structure has become the most crucial formal language throughout my body of work. Mechanical structure as a form fascinates me in two aspects. First, structural form can achieve complexity yet simplicity at once because of the ingrained logic behind it. Additionally, mechanical forms involve movement that is not random, but rather is designed or devised, and thus can be interactive. Working in particular with mechanical movements that interact with and involve viewers allows me to give vitality to objects. My wearable/kinetic works are intended to exist between jewelry and sculpture. They stand independently while their close connection to the body creates an intimate relationship with the viewer.

The passersby who saw him ignite described the flames as sky blue. The fire burst from his belly and lower back simultaneously and enveloped him instantly. He had no time to cry for help.
And so this painter used to go into residential buildings, jam a match into the light switch in the hall, drag his easel up the stairwell in search of another door he would paint, and so on. (Sometimes he would stay and work in the stairwell in the classic silence of night.) He painted, in oil on canvas, more than three hundred doors. Baruch S. Davidson: In Genesis 25:1-6, Abraham married a woman named Keturah and fathered six children. Abraham sent off the children whom she bore "eastward, to the Land of the East." They and their descendents are therefore not bound by the commandments of the Torah, which was given solely to the Jewish people, Isaac’s progeny. The only command that was given to Abraham and his children was circumcision.
Dov Krulwich: If Isaac was given "everything," what were the "gifts" given to the children of Ketura? Rashi explains as follows: "Our Rabbis explained, he gave them a name of God (meaning a Divine incantation) for impure uses." Commentaries on the Talmud explain this "name of God for impure uses" as "secrets of magic and powers of demons." The Daas Zekeinim explains this as "names of demons that are enlisted to do whatever their masters say." The Maharasha’s commentary on the Talmud says that Abraham learned black magic only to be able to defend against it, not to use it. Similarly, the Maharal says that Abraham taught these secrets to the children of Ketura only for defense (making Abraham perhaps the first teacher of defense against the dark arts). Whatever books the Zohar is referring to, we see the Talmud and Zohar presenting a consistent connection between Jewish teachings and Eastern mysticism, brought east by the children of Ketura. While some commentaries indicate that "The land to the east" might be areas just to the East of the Land of Israel, most understand this to be referring to the Far East.
