YATED NEEMAN: The Gemara (Sanhedrin 47b) records that people used to take dust from the grave of Rabi Abba bar Ibo for healing purposes. This sort of minhag persisted until recently. Not so long ago, women were still collecting ash remaining from the Lag Ba’omer bonfires in Meiron for similar purposes.
