I just heard through my lawyer Rick Purcell that one of my oldest and dearest friends just passed away. Life is so overwhelming and life is so complicated… We have to be grateful for the life we have and the people that love us.
This is a photo of Adam and I back in 1995. It was taken on August 3rd, 1995 at Adam’s old apartment that he used to own on Lafayette Street across from Supreme!
I was 15 years old and he was my first real friend when I moved to New York City. He showed me how to use the subway, he taught me about Buddhism, my first real Jewish experience was at his parent’s house with his whole family, & throughout my life he was a true champion of mine. He was a real inspiration for me and my work. He was my first friend who had a true appreciation for Asian culture and actually taught me alot about my own culture! He always encouraged me and my writing… he was one of the only people to read my unfinished novel… which is pretty sad because it will be done soon. Adam played an integral part in my life. I met him in a time where he was having a spiritual awakening and making a difference for the Tibetan people. I can go on and on about how giving he was and how kind he was…. I was truly blessed to know him.
Its really difficult to write something about Adam right now because I am in the midst of so many projects, contracts, and personal issues. There are so many things I should be celebrating right now and I can’t help but feel upset about Adam’s passing… the more I think about it… TODAY I’m going to celebrate Adam’s life! Even in my grieving, I’ll only think about the positive things he brought to my life. (I’m gonna blast his music so loud that I won’t be able to hear myself!)
