"Who is this coming from Edom?"

The Torah describes the Edomites as descendents of Esau the eldest son of the Jewish patriarch Isaac. Esau was born with reddish or ruddy complected skin and covered in hair (Breisheet 25:25) and his descendents also carry these genetic traits. The name Edom means "red" and the term Edomites means "red people."

Why Being Bald is a Blessing

"The Chinese, frankly, make me shiite in my pants for fear." ~ D2 from Tzfat

The West is not permitted to know much about the Christians of China, but smuggled reports estimate their totals numbering at least 100 million people (not including the Sinosphere Diaspora, including Christians in Taiwan and embedded throughout the West), far eclipsing dwindling Western adherents, with a significant amount requesting visas to nations with non-Christian majorities, including Israel. The Chinese, in particular, are attempting to hasten a Christian prophecy about The Kings of The East, which should give observant Jews pause (whose reliance on a weakened West is, frankly, unhealthy and bordering on obsessive avodah zara), as to what to do if such a scenario were to be entertained, besides a purported European-Muslim onslaught lead by some sort of Russian-Persian coalition. I suppose, then, yet another rabid Crusader invasion could be foiled, but the defensive execution would be a daunting task, among other related existential challenges. They could be useful, but to what capacity, Who knows.

‎Rabbi Yitzchak said: "In the year in which the Messiah-King appears, all the nations of the world are provoking each other. The King of Persia provokes an Arab king and the Arab king turns to Aram for advice. And the King of Persia goes back and destroys the entire world. And all the nations of the world are in panic and distress and they fall upon their faces and are seized with pains like those of a woman giving birth" (Yalkut Shimoni).
"I hate Esau." ~ Malachi 1:3

This passage is relatively well-known and oft-quoted, and some modern versions of it substitute "Edom" for "Aram." Ancient Jewish references to "Edom" are nowadays generally seen as referring to Europe or the West. 'Aram' refers to a part of ancient Mesopotamia, roughly congruent to the northern part of modern Iraq and eastern Syria. The instability in precisely this area is reportedly what most concerns the Saudis, as a U.S. pullout from Iraq looms and Syria's pro-Iranian regime teeters." ~ INN
Reintroducing Esau's Angels of Terrior

"The lower the descent [of Edom], the higher the potential ascent (for Israel). Known in chassidus as: 'Yerida l'tzorich Aliyah' - it is a descent purely for the purpose of ascent. When your life takes a turn for the worse, know that this is the preparation for a future elevation. It's the ricochet effect. The harder you throw a ball down, the higher it will bounce back up. People are tested all the time: know that is all it is: a test. Sometimes it may last for many years, sometimes just a few days. The lower you have fallen, the higher you can potentially rise. If you know this, then nothing should ever bother you again." ~ Shirat Devorah
