Introducing The East Wind
The most harmful of the four winds orginating from the east [and blasting the west], from which emanates light, since the sun rises in the east (Job 27:21; Isaiah 27:8, eretzetera). Blight caused by this wind, "thin ears" (Genesis 41:6); the withered "gourd" (Jonah 4:8). It is also the cause and the emblem of eval (Ezekiel 17:10; 19:12; Hosea 13:15). The East Wind is summoned to bring destructive plagues.
